The Arab Austrian House for Arts and Culture

 

Why Arab House:

 

The Arab world is sweeping with revolutionary winds; moving to achieve the demands of freedom with rumour of democratization, social justice, and concern for human rights. This has become the duty of the Arab emigrant elites  who have settled in Europe, including Austria, to support this trend in the ranks of the Arab minority. In addition to the concerned European circles, cross-media cultural parallel, and adjacent with the verb direct political Arab. Minority in Austria:

 

1. The Arab minority is one of the oldest foreign minorities in Austria, and is characterized by the presence of the toast and conscious. Recognizing a lack of interest in the culture .they are active in the field of public work for the benefit of their motherland, as well as concern for the interests of the expatriate minority Austrian Society:

2. Austria has historical and far-reaching relations with the Arab world. With the wide interest in Arab art and literature, it is reasonable and necessary to deepen this cultural interest and expand it.

 

The Project:

The Arab Austrian House of Arts and Culture is an institution that has taken on the task to mediate and expiate  the Arab culture. In order to achieve the aim, the following objectives should be met:

 

The Library

One of the pillars of the house is the latest and most prominent innovations in the fields of literature, humanities, and arts and sciences from both the Arab and European  worlds. There will be books on arts and culture in their respective languages and to make available and loan able for who has inters, Arab and European writers of books on their respective arts and culture will be invited for open discussions with the public.

 

Theatre and Arab Cinema

The house offers an exhibition of films and short plays from both worlds with the possibility of subsequent discussions.

 

Music Hall / Auditorium

A music library ,the works of Arab and European musicians for all to enjoy. Among the objectives, includes learning and studying Arabic and European music.

 

Exhibition space for visual arts

The plan also includes a permanent exhibition space for Arab, Austrian, and other European  artists  for presentations. Lessons in Arabic calligraphy will also be offered.

 

Study, research and publication

The house will also have a section that allows the sedentary of Austria‘s Arab citizens training in Arabic This will also be made available in German, to offer to particularly interested Austrians, as well as other European citizen’s .

This institution makes it their business to  cover the Arab world in the local media landscape and clear it of any misconceptions.

Study, research, and publication are sought in order to explain the Arab point of view towards current events. As well,  opportunities for cooperation and contacts with publishing houses, cultural institutions, and the Austrian and European media.

 

The institution intends to have its own printing facility where all  necessary house materials can be printed. Under the House leadership:

- Printing (newspapers / magazines, etc.)
- Internet
- Radio stations
- TV station

Will serve as a mouthpiece. This will be achieved in the long run depending on the support and promotion - which are promised to the house of Arab or European side.

 

Arab school

The departments include the Arabic school where beginning intermediate Arabic and Austrian can deepen their Arabic language skills.

 

Arabic coffee

The house would also like to offer an Arabic style cafe that serves as a meeting place for artists to spend time and get to know one another.
 
To the O.A. Implement divisions’ achieve the objectives , the following points need to be implemented:

1 Check the quality in every respect.

2 Experienced Austrians and Arabs should be consulted to find  the appropriate premises, calculate the costs, and plan funding. .

3 Discuss the best implementation form with specialists - Club, Ltd., etc.

4 Selection of the group it has delegated to the implementation and the appointment of a Board of Trustees.

5 Before the project’s completion, its goals and activities must be gradually introduced through local Arab forums and  cultural clubs . To further informational reach, the organization should consider integrating  the cultural centres of various Arab embassies in Vienna.

6 Ensure the exchange with various Arab research centres in order to secure house cooperation projects.
7 Building relationships with various Austrian art and cultural associations in order to draw on their experiences and procedures, and to ensure the success of the planned projects in the house.
